August brought us the world’s first movie trailer that was edited by AI. This either means that computers are getting scary smart, or that the structure of film trailers is so formulaic it is easy to analyse how to cut a trailer. Also – it is ok to be horrible to everyone, as long as you are an organ donor. Enjoy!
Faroe Islands – Sheep View
The Faroe Islands are a remote group of islands, between Scotland and Iceland. Saddened that they didn’t have Google Street View on the islands, they created Sheep View – solar powered cameras mounted to the backs of some of the 80,000 sheet that roam the islands. In August, Google started supplying the equipment for an official street view program!
Morgan – Trailer by Watson AI
Morgan is an upcoming thriller film, about artificial intelligence. To illustrate the real world advances in AI, they partnered with IBM to create the film’s trailer. Watson analyzed the film, and the trailers of other films, to produce the rough edit. The trailer is here, with a short documentary after. Can you tell that it’s not human edited?
So it turns out that your life as a complete asshole can be redeemed through the selfless act of organ donation upon your death. This is a fresh take on public service announcements.
IKEA – Lets Relax

South Park – Nosulus Rift
The hero in the new South Park video game farts… a lot. How can we turn that into a truly immersive experience? Welcome to the latest in augmented reality – the Nosulus Rift.
